LIFE IN FRONT SCHOOL
Agnes Wang
It's a pleasure to write this composition because it gives me an opportunity to tell you something about my life in Front School and how much I enjoy it.
Want to know my everyday routine? Here it is:
Usually, I get up around 6 o'clock, using a few minutes to tidy up my bed. Then I wash my face and have breakfast ( a bottle of milk, some cracker ). After packing my bag, I go to a park nearby where I can sit down and practice oral English with my classmates.
From 9:30 to 12:00 , a foreign teacher, Simon, gives us lectures. He is tall and thin. Also he has a pair of the most impressive blue eyes. I guess that's the reason why he always puts on blue shirts (so as to match the colour of his eyes ). Generally speaking, Simon is a kind of easy-going person. We get on well with each other. I find he is enthusiastic and responsible. Whenever in role-play or presentation time, he listens to every sentence we speak out carefully, in order to find out what we tend to ignore and correct the wrong pronounciations grammar or expressions. At the very beginning, I thought myself well-read and my oral English quite good, but after taking his course, I've come to realize how ignorant I really am. Just from casual conversations and informal presentations, I've learnt more about what the real English language is in the past 2 weeks than what I've learnt by myself from all oral English books. Thank you, Simon.
Time to eat ! For making full use of lunch break, I always have my meal quickly so that I can take a nap.
Getting refreshed, I attend John's lectures. John prefers that we call him Johnny to show we are friends. Actually we are. Every afternoon, my classmates and I do a lot of discussions and debates. I enjoy it. That is due to the good teacher, Johnny who tries his best to teach us not only some language skills but also the way of thinking in English. I still remember what he said at his first class, "learning English is a life-time work. It can be rewarding or just a waste of time. It's up to you and depends on how you study it. From now on, be thick-skinned and speak up!" Yes, as the saying goes--Rome wasn't built in a day, we can't expect a big improvement in a mouth. But I think what Johnny wanted was to give us a push on practicing oral English. And he made it.
How time flies! One-day's classes are finished!
After super, I have to go back to my dorm-the biggest headache for me, just because of poor living conditions. Not to blame , I miss my little cubicle of a room at home !
Anyway, the dormitory isn't supposed to be the right place to review my lessons .
Considering the heat wave outside, an air. Conditioned classroom will be surelly everyone's best choice. So all the classrooms are always crowded and my classmates and I have to get there early for a better place. We show great interest in our studies. Some study in the classroom deep into the night, reading listening or speaking. What's more, we occasionally choose one classroom our English corner for fellow classmates who want to help each other with oral expressions and share some techniques on how to improve their English level. The same goal--making progress makes us become a close-knitted class.
So, you see, life here is opening up a new perspective that brings as much excitement as enlightenment.
I'm a little bit reserved and can't express my feelings by words. One thing I want to tell you, I'm sure life have will be a colourful and fruitful period.
